Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society · Founded 1996

From the rivers to the valleys, we keep our history alive.

For thirty years, we’ve collected and preserved the story of Dauphin Borough and Middle Paxton Township: The Canal Towns and Rail Lines, The Families and Farms, the people who built this corner of Pennsylvania.

We lost our home, not our history.

In October 2021, a fire destroyed our home, the Old Dauphin School House, and much of the collection inside it. We lost objects that can never be replaced. What we didn’t lose was the history itself, or the community determined to carry it forward. We’re rebuilding — and there’s a place for you in that work.

Why we do this

We collect, preserve, and share the history of Dauphin Borough and Middle Paxton Township so it stays alive for the people who live here now — and for everyone who comes next. We’re an all-volunteer society, powered entirely by neighbors who believe this place is worth remembering.
